Palm Candy, also known as Panakarkandu in Tamil, is a natural sweetener made from the sap of the Palmyra palm tree (Borassus flabellifer). It is unrefined, chemical-free, and retains its natural minerals, making it a healthier alternative to white sugar. With its mild caramel flavor and crystalline texture, palm candy has been valued in traditional Indian medicine (Siddha and Ayurveda) for centuries.
We obtain Padhaneer (Palm sap) during January, February and March and Palm candy is prepared during this season and stored.
